Bachmann Industries, which specialize in model trains and railroads, are one of the largest sellers in the business. Based on their volume of production, they have been ranked as above. The company mainly deals in basic but high quality train sets which are sold in the open market. Another major attraction is the Bachmann Plasticville line of products which serve as accessories to Lionel and American Flyer Trains. The whole production line is available in O scale, HO scale and N scale.

The first entry made by Bachmann Industries was in 1970, when they introduced their locos and rolling stock, supplementing the Plasticville production line. Since then, they have launched a variety of locos ranging from steam to electric and various box, steel and wood stock cars.

Currently, Bachmann Industries is a part of the Kader group, which acquired it in 1981 due to decreased profits. The Kader group led to further expansion of the Bachmann group and covered the entire Europe. Major changes in the design of cars were brought about, and by the end of 1992, all cars were manufactured in China under a Government joint venture.
